BENJAMIN GILMOUR – December 17th
Ben Gilmour, a decorated poet, accomplished author, acclaimed film director and dedicated ambulance paramedic, is not one to rest on his laurels. Currently, he is immersed in the study of psychology, driven by a profound passion for exploring the potential of guided psychedelic therapy for trauma.
Among his literary achievements, Gilmour has penned best-sellers such as “Paramedico,” “Warrior Poets,” and “The Gap.” In the realm of cinema, he has showcased his talents as both a writer and director in three feature films. His debut work, “Son of a Lion,” earned the distinguished honor of being selected for the prestigious Berlinale. More recently, his film “Jirga” secured both the AACTA Award for Best Independent Film and the CineFestOz Award for Best Film. Notably, “Jirga” represented Australia at the 2019 Academy Awards in the category of Best Foreign Language Film.
Given the breadth and depth of Ben’s diverse experiences and unwavering interests, this forthcoming talk promises to be a captivating exploration of a wide range of topics, guaranteed to provoke thought and discussion.
